  • 2 cups apple cider
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper, then sear it on all sides until golden brown.
  4. Add chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until softened.
  5. Pour in apple cider and add thyme sprigs.
  6. Cover and transfer to the oven. Braise for 4 hours.
  7. Remove from oven and let rest before slicing.
