Churro Saltine Toffee is a delectable treat that combines the richness of toffee with the cinnamon-sugar flavor of churros, making it perfect for easy home baking.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package Saltine crackers
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar together, stirring until it comes to a boil.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt. Pour the mixture over the arranged Saltines, spreading it evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-6 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Let sit for a few minutes, then spread the melted chocolate over the top.
  7. In a small bowl, mix granulated sugar with cinnamon. Sprinkle this over the melted chocolate.
  8. Allow to cool completely, then break into pieces for serving.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, you can add chopped nuts to the top before the chocolate layer.
