  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup cooked chicken ham, diced
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour and salt; cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Stir in cold water until dough forms. Shape into a disc, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Roll out dough on a floured surface and cut into rectangles.
  5. Place filling of turkey bacon, chicken ham, and cheese on half of the rectangles.
  6. Cover with the other rectangles and seal edges with a fork.
  7. Brush tops with beaten egg and cut small slits for steam to escape.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the meats with sautéed vegetables.
  • These pop-tarts can also be made ahead and frozen for a quick breakfast.
